An Awesome Early Mother's Day Present!

This weekend my daughters gave me an awesome Mother's Day present! I know it is a little early but that is ok. They arranged a yard work party for me. Participating in the event were Crystal, Kimberly, Jayson, Nathaniel, Linda, Kevin, and Jayson's parents Jim and Connie. The kids, Jordan, Torrin, Jacob and Carson, were also there playing and digging in the dirt. It was a great day and we turned my over-grown jungle in front of the house into a neat and tidy garden. I love it!

This is the before garden.

Big bushes

Scarey pokey bush over whelming the front window.

A great day to be outside.

Kimberly was a holy terror with the branch cutters.

Jayson was very effective at removing unwanted bushes with the tractor.

Crystal writing Jordan's name in the gross black sidewalk.

Remember that bush Kim was standing next to with the branch cutters?

So much nicer now.

Remember the big scary pokey bush?

Thank you to everyone that help clean out my garden. It looks great and I love it!

Easter 2012

This year I was worried that the little girls would not get to color or hunt for Easter eggs because they were sooo sick the week before. Both girls and Kimberly were out sick most of the week but recovered enough to color some eggs, go to church, and hunt for eggs.

We spent all day at Crystal and Jayson's house hunting eggs, eating food, watching the Masters golf tournament (Kevin and Jayson anyway), watching the Jordan, Torrin, Jacob, and Carson play outside, and eating more food. The most amazing part of all was that it was 70 degrees outside!

Ready to color eggs.

Enthusiastically coloring eggs.

Here is the crew.

Too cute for words.

The Hunt.

Sort of cruel to make them hunt for eggs in blackberry bushes.

Checking the loot.

Congratulations Davey!

WAY TO GO DAVEY! After 34 years of over the top dedicated service to the Boeing Company, David Christopher O'Keefe retired. Kevin and I attended a retirement party for Davey at Foster's golf course. It was a small gathering of people he cared about from work and his family which included (besides Kevin and I) Paula, Todd, Rosie, Lee, Quinn, Susan, and Maggi. One of his friends told a funny story that Davey had related to him years ago about how Boeing is a lot like a big jello elephant. Now Davey's days are spent working on his boat and staring out at the the Hood Canal. Awesome!

The man of the hour, Davey.

I was not going to put this picture of Susan in but it was the only one I had. She has kind of a goofy stare going on with her no-winky-no-blinky eye.
